As the school year begins we are extremely excited to get the ball rolling for the Climate Lab’s second official season!

Greetings Climate Lab Participants! As the school year begins we are extremely excited to get the ball rolling for the Climate Lab’s second official season! The new year will bring some changes to the program, not the least of which is the inclusion of four new schools to the project. We are excited to welcome teachers and administrators from:

  • Cambridge Friends School, Cambridge, MA
  • Harpswell Coastal Academy, Harpswell, ME
  • Portland Friends School, Portland, ME
  • Sacred Heart, Kingston, MA

To better serve these new schools and further geographical expansion of the project, we will forgo a day-long professional development training session in lieu of short, interactive webinars. Our aim is to host these sessions once a month on a weeknight evening. The webinars will be recorded so you can view them if you are unavailable when they take place. Our hopes are that they will serve as a platform for teacher feedback and discussions and allow us to connect with educators regardless of their locations.

The first webinar is to be held on Wednesday September 30 at 7PM. You will need a computer and access to a webcamera/microphone (most laptops have these built in). If it’s possible for you to participate at the same computer with a colleague, that may help the system run more smoothly. We will send out more webinar details between now and then.

Another change will be the implementation of a Google group for Climate Lab educator use. This platform will allow us to share copies of curriculum drafts, other teacher resources and contact information as well as allow you to share google docs of your students’ data. For the time being, we will continue posting teacher resources and materials on the Climate Lab website:
