At our Annual Meeting on June 8, Manomet officially welcomed three new Trustees. Although these folks have been serving Manomet for months and were approved by the Board well before the Annual Meeting, we welcome their energy, enthusiasm and commitment.  Representing a tremendous breadth and depth of experience in business, nonprofits and education, these three individuals have and will continue to provide leadership and guidance in the years ahead.

 

Andy Falender

 

Andy is currently working as a volunteer advisor to the CEO at the Conservation Law Foundation. He is the former President of the Appalachian Mountain Club, a post he served in for over 23 years. Prior to AMC, Andy was CEO at New England Conservatory of Music for 13 years. He also served as Assistant Director at the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare and as Economic Advisor to the City Mayor at Peace Corps. Bringing a wealth of operational experience in non-profit leadership including governance, balanced budgets and program development, the Board welcomes his talent and perspective. Andy holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA, Economics, from the University of Michigan.

 

Deb Harrison

 

Deb is a biology teacher at Noble & Greenough School in Dedham, MA, and holds the Morrison Chair in Science. Deb serves as the Director of Squash, coaches the girls’ varsity squash team, leads environmental sustainability efforts on campus—bringing students and staff to Manomet to learn directly about science and research—and volunteers at Manomet’s Banding Lab. Deb has been a Manomet Councilor since 2013 and serves as the Councilors’ Co-chair. Deb has been an exemplary leader in her Councilor role, helping with our Fund-a-Need at Summerfest, leading the Councilors’ Bird-a-thon team three years in a row. Manomet is thrilled to have Deb’s continued insight, experience, and expertise in education.

 

Nancy Huntington Stager

 

Nancy Huntington Stager leads Eastern Bank’s Human Resources Division as well as Eastern’s Corporate and Charitable Foundation operations and initiatives. Having joined the Bank in 1995, Nancy has actively shaped the culture the Bank enjoys today as consistently one of the Boston Globe’s “Top Places to Work,” as well as the Bank’s reputation in the communities of eastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. Eastern’s $93MM Charitable Foundation remains focused on the communities of eastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, providing over $7MM in grants to more than 1,600 local organizations in the past year. She has received numerous awards for her leadership in both HR and community outreach. Nancy’s current community involvement includes: Chair of the North Shore Workforce Development Board, member of the Advisory Board for Suffolk University’s Executive MBA programs, and member of the Board of Overseers for Salem State University. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University. She resides in Reading with her family.
