Manomet is embarking on a Master Facilities Plan to reimagine our headquarters in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Manomet’s campus has long been a place to welcome both scientists to the Trevor Lloyd-Evans Bird Banding Lab and bird enthusiast neighbors and friends to stroll the property. It has also, under the auspices of a revamped Environmental Education and Outreach team, had an exciting resurgence as a hub of learning for students of all ages. Led by our Selection Committee, Manomet sent out request for proposals to a number of diverse firms.
After interviewing four finalists and reviewing presentations, the committee chose Sasaki, an innovative firm with offices in Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, and Shanghai. Their work includes building libraries, labs, and landscapes across the globe. Sasaki’s mission statement that includes “affirming diverse perspectives, blended disciplines, open exchange, deep engagement with clients and communities, commitment to history and context, curiosity about news ways of thinking and making, and expert facility with data and emerging technologies” dovetails perfectly with Manomet’s future. We look forward to partnering with Sasaki to reinvent our facilities to welcome a new and wider audience to our historic and scenic campus. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting work!
