Current Volunteer Opportunities

INTERNATIONAL SHOREBIRD SURVEY (ISS)  VOLUNTEERS

Make your Shorebirds Count! Volunteer with the International Shorebird Survey (ISS)
Volunteer with the International Shorebird Survey and count shorebirds at your favorite site. ISS is the longest-running citizen science program on shorebirds. Be part of a group of over 500 volunteers and over 1,000 sites across the Western Hemisphere. Learn More.

Some basic (not expert) skill or experience in identifying and counting shorebirds is required, but we are happy to share training resources. Three ISS visits to your favorite shorebird site in a migration season (Spring or Fall) are most helpful.

To learn more about ISS and to volunteer contact Lisa Schibley at lschibley@manomet.org.

BEACH CLEANUP VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers come together in an effort to make our coast a little cleaner and safer for both people and wildlife. Each fall Manomet celebrates International Beach Cleanup Day at White Horse Beach in Plymouth, MA. Stay tuned for International Beach Cleanup Day on Sunday September 22, 2024 (NEW DATE), as well as other beach cleanups throughout the year.

To learn more about International Beach Cleanup Day and to volunteer contact Justin Barrett at jbarrett@manomet.org or (508) 224-6521.
