Manomet is pleased to announce that Dr. Neil Williams has joined our staff as an Applied Forest Scientist. Dr. Williams will primarily support Manomet’s efforts in the Climate Services Program to improve climate change adaptation of U.S. forests and to highlight the value of forests in lessening the impacts of climate change. In addition, Dr. Williams will develop forest management guidance associated with Manomet’s watershed and coastal resiliency work.
“The benefits of forests are numerous—they provide most of our clean drinking water, store vast amounts of carbon, and provide wildlife habitat. Increasingly, forests are viewed as providing the largest opportunity for limiting the extent of climate change through natural systems-based approaches,” said Eric Walberg, Senior Program Leader, of Manomet’s Climate Services Program. “Neil brings a mix of professional experience and education that will be of great benefit to Manomet in advancing our forestry work.”
