The Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC) is a business organization working with over 750 members across South Shore Massachusetts. They exist to serve not only local business, but the community at large. They engage and work with businesses by offering a variety of business networking opportunities; providing a strong voice on local and regional business issues; offering educational seminars and special programs; and developing and supporting economic development initiatives that improve the overall quality of life in the region.

PACC Executive Director, Kevin O’Reilly, recently announced, “We are pleased to be participating in the launch of Manomet’s Root 360° business sustainability tool.  Through the use of this platform, businesses have the opportunity to learn how sound business practices are good for both the bottom line and the environment in our communities.”

This June, PACC will host a training session on Root 360° with Sustainable Economies Senior Program Manager, Anthony Jaccarino.  The launch presentation will provide an overview of the sustainability and economic challenges facing today’s businesses and introduce Root 360° as a helpful tool toward building a future fit business.  After the session, PACC members will be invited to use the online tool to benchmark their individual businesses throughout the month to gain a “sustainability score” for the PACC service area.

“Our hope is to use the Root 360° tool as another way to engage our businesses in sustainability efforts across our region.  By doing this together as a chamber, we feel it is an excellent way to combine efforts, learn from each other, and build healthy businesses and communities,” said Director of Membership Relations, Meaghan Doherty.

“Working with chambers across the country is one of our key goals to launch Root 360°.  We are excited to be working with the PACC in America’s home town,” shared Jaccarino.  Currently he and his team are meeting with several chambers of commerce, small business development centers, and other types of business organizations.  The nationwide goal is to have 8,000 businesses using Root 360° by 2018.
